We’re located right in the centre of Denmark in the city of Odense, but have employees working across the world and in many European countries. The position as application engineer is situated in our very modern facilities alongside our R&D and our service departments, but you interface with colleagues in many other countries. With our international operations, you can expect 80-100 days of travelling to customers and colleagues across the world.

We’re offering a position in our application engineering department, which bridges R&D, product management and service. We service customers globally based on our practical and hands-on way of working, and we’ve established an excellent team where we have focus on fulfilling the needs of our customers and being ambitious, while having a fun and engaging working life.

Key responsibilities
As our application engineer, your task will include the following:

  • Provide insight into technical and client requirements to Product Specialist and Program Manager to ensure future developments and product enhancements are second to none
  • Support Product Managers in defining product roadmaps, analysing competition, business & marketing plans, marketing material, releases, operations-handover documentation
  • Provide 2nd level support to customers via telephone, email and face-to-face methods
  • Logging and working with support issues in Onyx database including knowledge on how issues are resolved and fed back to R&D where appropriate
  • Involvement in both pre- and post-sales support
  • Work with OEMS and sales units to implement our products into customers’ workflows
  • Prepare functional requirement specifications in R&D projects – including cross-organizational work
  • Prepare training material and facilitate product training for customers, dealers and internally
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams to develop new or maintain existing products
  • Support product lifecycle activities, e.g. assists with strategies on product phase-out
  • Collaborate with R&D on test plans, testing of products, problem analysis/trouble shooting
  • Prepare product documentation (e.g. user manuals and installation manuals)
  • Participate in and provide support to sales and marketing team for tradeshows, demo events, and open house events – including marketing material
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes within the LG-MCD team
  • Actively participate in cross training and knowledge transfer across functional teams  

Your profile
You are probably either an ambitious person looking for a career path from the road construction site and into a technology company, or you’re working specifically with road construction machine control either with an OEM, a contractor, or in a company manufacturing machine control products looking for an international career.

Aside from this, the following points are key to achieving the expected results:

  • A relevant Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, Surveying, Geo-Science) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years practical work experience on road construction machinery with machine control is mandatory
  • Working knowledge with theodolites, total stations & GNSS, lasers etc.
  • Very good understanding of road construction work-flow
  • Experience with recognized machine control solutions
  • Strong technical skills, curiosity and creativity
  • High work discipline is required in order to meet deliverables cross-organizationally in project work
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Ability to rapidly grasp customers' requirements and technical solutions to problems
  • Ability to rapidly acquire knowledge and experience on new technologies
  • Ability to use the knowledge to provide customer support and training
  • Ability to communicate product & technical concepts effectively to a non-technical audience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface at all levels and functions internally and with customers, and maintain a good relationship
  • Customer focused, proactive and flexible team player, who always meets deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, take responsibility and know when there is a sense of urgency
  • Knows how to use MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • English fluent verbally and in writing. Other languages are an advantage
